*** My take on Sizing***
-Adults sizes are unisex and run true to unisex sizing. If the adult is very tall I may would consider sizing up a size to give some extra length.
-Kids size run true to size as well but are expected to be a snug fit so if your child is close to the next size or doesn't like a snug fit I would suggest going up a size.
Newborn gowns (striped) are to fit newborns 0-3 months.
-If unsure I think you are always safe to go up a size because they are can be shrunk some by washing in hot water and drying and because they are banded bottoms for kids they can be a bit flexible in size if too big.
The size chart provided does measure the pjs laying flat. So keep in mind that means the elastic in the pants isn't stretched during the measuring. You can always measure an exiting pair of pjs for comparison.
